Description
I made this for the next page of Gimkhana
It is a picture hanging in the "office" of Leonidas and has a metaphoric function (Leonidas is poisoned; so the snake is poison, while the lion represents his strength of mind) , just because I love to spread coincidences and allegories everywhere. XD
Anyways the subject isn't new at all; many authors have represented the fight between the evil and the good with these two symbols , then it was a reason in more to give another realistic detail to the whole comic;
I wanted to imitate as much as possible the style of the eighteenth century oil on canvas, and I was inspired by this picture in particular:
Lion and Snake, 1799 James Northcote (after) (British, 1746–1831), etching and mezzotint, 20 x 25 3⁄8 in. Paul Mellon Collection, 85.1433
</span>Hope you like it
